UNDERGRADUATE APPLICANTS

We encourage applications from prospective students of diverse backgrounds and with a wide variety of prior qualifications and experience. If you would like to apply to study Music at undergraduate level, you can find full details of application procedures - as well as useful information concerning services, facilities, and financial arrangements - on the university's Study at Southampton page.

If, after reading through the entry requirements, you are interested in applying but are uncertain whether your have the right qualifications, or if you have special circumstances and would like advice, please contact the Music Recruitment Coordinator. We will be delighted to discuss options with you.

You can make a visit to Southampton to see the campus and ask questions about our undergraduate courses and facilities prior to application by attending a University Open Day.  Once you have applied to read Music at Southampton through UCAS, you will be invited to attend a specialized Music UCAS Visit Day. If you are unable to come to Southampton on these days but would like to schedule an individual visit, please contact the Music Recruitment Coordinator.

POSTGRADUATE APPLICANTS

Postgraduate applicants should contact Dr Thomas Irvine for advice about Masters (MMus or MRes) courses, or  to discuss plans for doctoral (MPhil/PhD) research. Please email pghums@soton.ac.uk for general postgraduate admissions enquiries. MMus and MRes applicants should check the School of Humanities applications page for guidance on supporting materials to send with their application.
