Undergraduate student loans and grants

If you are a UK or EU undergraduate, you can apply for a student loan to cover your tuition fees and living costs. UK students may also be eligible for maintenance grants.

We offer a package of fee waivers and bursaries to make University study more affordable for UK/EU undergraduates from lower-income backgrounds.

Scholarships and funding

Scholarships and studentships may be available from your academic department. Check your subject area for any undergraduate or postgraduate scholarships on offer.

If you are an international student, you may be eligible for a Southampton International Merit Scholarship from your academic department. You may also be able to apply for funding specific to your country, or funding through one of our international partnerships.
