Mr Akshay Thakur leads the Technology Consulting practice in EMEA and APAC, focusing on driving value to clients through developing technology strategys, roadmaps, and outcome based solutions, that incorporate the integration of intelligent, high-performance building systems and smart workplace innovations.
Akshay manages the smart building visioning, design, and engineering efforts for major smart building projects and has developed technology roadmaps for global corporate clients, representing various building types and sizes. Due to Akshay’s experience, he also helps clients understand how to apply Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and smart building strategies to drive business results in commercial and corporate real estate.
Akshay has over 19 years experience of engineering, consulting, sales, and business development experience in multiple technology focused roles. His passion lies within the space of IoT, and in particular, the digitisation of buildings and workplaces.
Prior of joining JLL, Akshay spent over 16 years at Cisco in a numerous roles. Akshay brings a wealth of technical knowledge and sector experience (smart city, finance, enterprise, and mobile service provider) coupled with business pragmatism to ensure tangible outcomes.
Akshay graduated from the Univerity of New South Wales, Australia with 1st class honors and holds a Bachelors of Engineering (Computer & Networks). He has authored articles and whitepapers, and been a frequent speaker at industry events.
