Members of staff at the Centre for Research on Ageing can apply their substantive and analytical skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods to a range of policy-relevant topics in ageing over the life course. We are regularly invited to contribute to research projects by national and international organisations, including government departments in the UK, the World Health Organization, the World Bank and third-sector organisations.
We are keen to engage with real-life issues in the social sciences. Our academics have expertise in a wide range of subjects in ageing, gerontology, economics, politics, international relations, social statistics and demography, social work, sociology and social work.
The Centre for Research on Ageing offers short courses in gerontology, which are designed with mid-career professionals in mind. Such courses last for 12 weeks, and can be followed face-to-face or by distance learning. For more information, please visit our pages on professional development .
