As part of the Festival of British Archaeology we are organising an Archaeology Activity Day at the University of Southampton.
There will plenty of opportunities for hands-on experience via free interactive workshops:
- Keeping warm in the Palaeolithic (animal hides & clothing)
- Anglo-Saxon Crime Scene Investigation (burials & human skeletons)
- Explore Maritime Archaeology
- Art on the Rocks (recording and interpreting rock art)
- Human Evolution (fossils and flints)
- Seeing the Past (virtual reality and museums)
The workshops are open to everyone, but are aimed particularly at 13-16 year olds.
