Business School student wins Grant Thornton Prize
BSc Accounting and Finance student, William Fowler, was recently presented with the Grant Thornton prize. The prize is awarded for the first year student with the best overall performance in Financial Accounting and Management Accounting.
On 29th November 2016 William was accompanied by Carol Masters, Principal Teaching Fellow in Accounting, on a visit to Grant Thornton’s offices in Southampton where he was presented with a cheque for £100 and a certificate. After meeting partner Norman Armstrong, William was given a tour of the offices. He was able to chat to current trainees and also met Kulsum Deader, a previous prize winner, who now works for the firm.
William commented "I enjoyed my visit, especially in meeting people at Grant Thornton who were able to tell me what it is like working in a professional services firm. I'd like to thank them for inviting me to their offices and showing me round."
