China Scholarship Council

The China Scholarship Council Scholarships

The University has been awarded two China Scholarship Council Scholarships by the Chinese Embassy in London. The scholarships cover fees, accommodation, living expenses and internal transit within China. You can apply to study Mandarin for a year and if you like follow on with a Masters course or even a PhD. The scholarships are for one year initially but if you get accepted onto a programme which is longer than a year they will be rolled over providing you progress successfully. You will get to choose your preferred universities.

If you are interested in applying, please send a letter of motivation explaining why you are keen to take this opportunity by 12 noon on Monday 16th March to Ruth Law at The deadline for CSC application is 1st April, so that will give time for the successful candidates to make an on-line application.

There is a two page medical form that needs to be signed by your doctor to apply. The doctor only has to sign off the obvious things at this stage. Any tests can be conducted at a later date. The successful candidates will have at least one week to make an appointment with the doctor to sort this out, but if you can't get a non-urgent appointment with your GP at short notice it would be worth booking one in advance. Please see the useful downloads for information about eligibility and medical forms.
