2014-15 Humanities Postgraduate Funding

The University of Southampton’s Faculty of Humanities is delighted to announce a range of studentships.

Notably, these will be funded through the South West and Wales Doctoral Training Partnership .

The Consortium expects to grant around 40 studentships in 2014-15 across the following Arts and Humanities subjects:

Archaeology
Creative Writing
Drama, Film and TV
English
History, including Jewish History and Culture
Modern Languages
Music
Philosophy

Eligible applicants must submit the online Expression of Interest Form (on the Consortium website given above) by 13 January 2014 and will be invited to the Consortium Open Day on 22 January 2014 in Bristol. Closing date for applications is 21 February.

In addition to AHRC funding the following doctoral scholarships are available for Faculty of Humanities post-graduate applicants:

  • Wolfson Foundation Scholarships in History, English Literature and Languages (20.000 per annum for three years)
  • ESRC DTC doctoral scholarship in Linguistics and Social History(fees and maintenance)
  • University of Southampton Archival Scholarship (fees and maintenance)
  • University of Southampton Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships (7.000 per annum for three years)
  • Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute Scholarship (10.000 per annum for three years)


For all funding applications you also need to complete a University of Southampton application and a Humanities Funding Form by 14 February 2014.
