Abstract: In the last decade, a number of technological advances have stimulated an increased interest in time-dependent routing problems. In this talk we survey the research in this field and present a review of applications and solution methods.

Professor Gianpaolo Ghiani,University of Salento (Italy),Gianpaolo Ghiani is Professor of Operations Research at the University of Salento (Lecce, Italy). His main research interests lie in the field of decision support systems (including methodologies at the boundary between Operations Research and Artificial Intelligence) with an emphasis on applications to logistic systems planning & control. His doctoral thesis was awarded the Transportation Science Dissertation Award from INFORMS. He was "postdoctoral" al GERAD (Groupe d'Etudes et de Recherche en Analyse des Decisions), Université de Montreal, Montreal, Canada. He has published in a variety of journals, including Operations Research, Mathematical Programming,Transportation Science, Operations Research Letters, Networks, Optimization Methods and Software, Computers & Operations Research, International Transactions in Operational Research, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Parallel Computing and Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing Systems. He has co-authored the textbook "Introduction to Logistics System Planning and Control" (Wiley, 2004). Also he is an editorial board member of Computers & Operations Research.
