Event details
We propose and investigate a bilevel-optimization problem in which a leader (the owner of the electricity grid) chooses the ratings (bounds on the maximum load) of a set so as to minimize the economic cost due to their ageing as determined by a follower (the system operator) who dispatches power in the network subject optimally subject to the ratings determined by the leader.
Speaker information
Francis Garuba, a Research Fellow in Operational Research in CORMSIS within Mathematical Sciences at the University of Southampton. He completed his PhD in Management Science from Lancaster University Management School. He comes with significant industry experience within the mobile telecom domain in network design, planning, traffic engineering, technology/product planning and delivery. His research focuses on network design, data analytics and decision making under uncertainty (Robust Optimisation, Distributed Robust Stochastic Optimisation). Of late he’s been focussing on optimisation problems arising within the national grid with emphasis on Bilevel Optimisation.
