My background in Education began when I completed a Secondary Education PGCE in Social Sciences at the University of Leicester in 1992 and I spent 6 years working as a teacher of Government & Politics, History and IT in Guildford. I moved wholly into IT training working for a London-based firm but travelling across the UK. This involved a wide range of delivery - from standard classroom courses, bespoke content, seminars, floor-walking and introducing on-line learning to the mix. During this time I supported people across a wide range of sectors - trade unions, industrial researchers, city banks, graduate intake and interns, warehouse staff, and the police and military. Towards the end of this time I came to the University of Southampton to help improve digital literacy and joined the University in 2007.

My specialisms are in Microsoft Office, Articulate Storyline, LinkedIn Learning and learning design. I hold Microsoft Office Specialist Master status. I have an interest in accessibility and advocate Universal Design for Learning.

2020 has seen a shift in the emphasis of our support for staff and students and I am developing a network of academics to enhance the curriculum with support from content in LinkedIn Learning. I am also working with a range of professional and student services to enable them to help our staff develop their own skills through LinkedIn Learning.
