Mr John Peacock
Visiting Fellow
Mr John Peacock is a Visiting Fellow in English at the University of Southampton.
John Peacock, having retired as Reader in English in 2007, is now a visiting fellow. His monograph The Stage Designs of Inigo Jones was reprinted in 2006, when The Look of Van Dyck also appeared, a study of the painter's theory of pictorial art (in the existence of which he may be the sole believer). He is now writing on debates about the concept of nobility in the early modern period and their relation to Van Dyck's aristocratic portraits.
