Discovery Series - Career Services and Alumni

On 16th November, the Faculty International Office of Social Sciences hosted the next event in our Discovery Series.

The event focused on Careers Services and Alumni, with topics including how to get a head start in a chosen career choice, post-graduation visas and specific questions aimed at the University of Southampton alumni on the panel. Along with its host, the panel consisted of Associate Dean International of the Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Sabu Padmadas, Career Consultant Nicola King, and Careers and Employability Officer Holly Street, as well as University of Southampton alumni Maureen Usiagwu and Lingkesh Sivakumar.

Before the session, audience members were asked to submit questions to the panel so that they could be included as part of the session. After a brief introduction from each panel, the host Song Utz (Senior Executive Officer of Faculty International Office) asked the pre-submitted questions, covering many topics. The panel answered the questions posed to them with advice and anecdotes, sharing a wealth of information and experience with the students in the room. This section was followed by more open question and answer sessions where students could ask their questions directly to the panel.
