To me the most fascinating part of the course lies in the fact that it builds up a solid knowledge framework for economics and meanwhile triggers critical thinking.

What was your course, and what did you like most about it?

I studied BSc Economics and Finance at Southampton. To me the most fascinating part of the course lies in the fact that it builds up a solid knowledge framework for economics and meanwhile triggers critical thinking.

Why did you choose Southampton over other international options?

The core reasons why I chose to study at Southampton are that Southampton enjoys a good reputation in terms of both teaching quality and academic research.

Are there any challenges you faced studying and living in the UK?

Overall, my studies and life in the UK have gone smoothly and I have never encountered any significant difficulties. If any, I would say giving a presentation is one of the challenges.

What tips would you give to other international students planning to study at the University of Southampton?

1. Don’t leave things (e.g. coursework, exams) to the deadline, prepare as early as you can

2. Keep calm during the exam, just treating it as a process of picking up what you have learned in your memory

3. Make a good plan and manage your time efficiently

Would you recommend studying at Southampton to other potential international students?

Yes, definitely. I do have a fantastic experience in Southampton – not only owing to its good learning environment but also knowledgeable teaching staff and friendly peers.
