The "Anglo-Chinese Maritime Law & Practice in Transition IV" conference was held in Southampton on 6 and 7 June 2019.

The conference was kindly sponsored by Southampton Law School and the Confucius Institute of University of Southampton, Dr Meixian Song, lecturer in Law, organised the conference with the support of the Institute of Maritime Law and the Centre for Private and Commercial Law of Southampton Law School.

The conference followed the Law Reform Projects of UK Insurance Contract Law and the Draft Chinese Maritime Code, as well as significant developments in case law. A truly international group of speakers presented papers, covering topics in conflicts of law, shipping themes and statutory law reforms. The conference attracted many legal academics, policy makers in the field, specialist legal practitioners and law students.
