Dr Alexandros Ntovas speaks at the Global Ocean Regime international forum

The IML Director, Dr Alexandros X.M. Ntovas, Associate Professor of Maritime Law, participated in the virtual proceedings of the forum’s conference on “The Role of the Law of the Sea and Recent Developments in Global Ocean Governance”, which was hosted by the Korea Maritime Institute in cooperation with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and took place on 24–25 September 2020 in Busan, South Korea.
This high-level forum featured eminent speakers and delegates in the area of ocean governance from international organizations and tribunals, diplomacy, public service and leading universities, including among others, the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea, the Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority, and the President of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.
Dr Ntovas sat on the panel discussing ‘Recent Developments in the EEZ and Fisheries Issues’, and he focused his contribution in reflecting on ongoing issues , as well as future prospects, for the sustainable use of conservation and management measures of Highly Migratory Species within the conventional area of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission.
