The Institute of Maritime Law was founded in 1982 to give focus to an existing interest in maritime and international trade law as these subjects had been an important feature of law at Southampton for some ten years. Since then, the Institute has grown to become a world leading centre for research, consultancy, and training in maritime law. To mark this remarkable milestone an international conference will be convened on 14-15 December 2022 at the University of Southampton to celebrate four decades of excellence. ***Please note the booking for this conference has now closed.
