We are pleased to let you know that Dr. Edilson Fernandes de Arruda within the University of Southampton will deliver a seminar entitled: "Modelling and optimisation for decision support in health care: a few case studies from Rio and Wales".

Dr. Edilson Fernandes de Arruda was awarded his DSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Campinas, Brazil, in 2006. Since 2015 he has been working in partnership with hospitals and healthcare institutes to develop decision support tools to optimise the utilisation of scarce resources in healthcare. Applications include capacity planning for lung cancer diagnostic pathways, inventory policies for blood supplies, surgery scheduling and post-surgical bed management, among others.
