Congratulations to SCNR PhD student Eleanor Shipton (English), who has been awarded the Greta Depledge Prize for the best postgraduate paper presented at the 9th annual Victorian Popular Fiction Association Conference, which took place 19-21st July, at Senate House, University of London. Eleanor’s paper entitled ‘Anthony Trollope's Postal Travel and Rural Mobilities’ was part of a panel on ‘Travel and the Archives,’ and comes from a chapter of her SWW DTP-funded PhD project ‘Postal Bodies: Imagining Communication and Transportation Networks in Nineteenth-Century Literature,’ co-supervised with the University of Exeter.
