Food for the Vulnerable

Our first guest of the series was Professor Sri Kandiah.

Sri is a mentor, coach, counsellor and a well-being champion for the Faculty of Social Sciences at Southampton University. During the pandemic, he's volunteered at Grace Kitchen, where he and fellow colleagues have been collecting food and toiletry donations to help feed the homeless in the Southampton and Portsmouth area. He’s also been holding wellbeing sessions since November 2019 (virtually since March) held every Tuesday and Thursday at 10am on Microsoft Teams. Professor Sri has been practising mindfulness, meditation, yoga and other spiritually related activities for many years.

This episode saw us talk about how the donations started, the increase in demand for food during the pandemic and Professor Sri's hopes for the future.

Check out the talk below, along with our top insights.
