Feed the Community

We were joined by another fantastic social innovator who's been carrying out positive social action within the local community.

Victoria Ugwoeme is a respected community leader and activist in Southampton. She actively participates in various community volunteering roles and has shown commendable skills in project management, co-ordination, sourcing, counselling, and youth engagement.

She is the founder of Feed the Community Project, which provides local residents with free access to fruits and vegetables to help contribute to a balanced diet. Through this initiative, it has proven to tackle hunger and reduce food waste, with many residents spreading the good news to others in the community. Her vision is to create a bond that glues communities together through food and aims to educate young people and families to have a better understanding of culinary skills, diet, and preservation of foods. For the future, Victoria aims to create a community garden where young children can develop and harvest food items. She believes that through food education we can tackle hunger and inequality, and nurture a healthier community.
