Professor Arthur Butt, University of Portsmouth 'Axon-glial interactions in CNS white matter'
Arthur Butt will discuss his interest in the way in which glial cells impact on function and dysfunction of the brain. His work involves characterizing intrinsic properties of glial cells and the ways in which they interact with other glial cells and neurons. These investigations and their consequence extend into investigation of neurodegeneration and white matter disease like multiple sclerosis. In addition, the regulation of by cells have the potential to inform on the regulation of stem cells in the brain.
