Event details

Part of the 2021 Festival of Social Sciences.

This is a great opportunity to learn how small island developing states (SIDS) are facing climate change and to discuss on how the science-policy interface can support the resilience of these islands. During the event we will feature a short film that documents the experience of a group of academics and policymakers who sought to initiate a discussion about the way the current climate finance regime is detrimental to SIDS, which are the first and worst affected by climate change. After this, we will have a panel discussion in collaboration with Public Policy Southampton, where you will have the chance to ask questions of the academics from UoS and beyond involved about climate change in SIDS and how to make an impact at an event like CoP26.
