Abstract
Advances in genetic and genomic technology mean that a test in one person may sometimes reveal risk of future disease in relatives who will remain ignorant unless alerted. When should such communication take place? Whose job is it? Anneke Lucassen will discuss the complex ethical and legal challenges that are increasingly relevant across a range of clinical specialities as genomic medicine moves into mainstream medicine.
