The Science Council is delighted to announce the launch of its 2022-2025 Strategy. This strategy will continue to promote technical careers, and the Science Council is committed to engaging with key stakeholders such as the Technician Commitment Implementation Group and the Technical Pathways Project, to support, develop, and recognise technicians.

The core objectives from the strategy include the following:

  • Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) has been added to the Science Council's core objectives. EDI is fundamentally linked to the work carried out by the Science Council and is vital for a strong, sustainable, and thriving science and innovation ecosystem. The Science Council has committed to working with its members to increase representation of under-represented groups on its registers and across the scientific workforce.
  • The strategy aims to generate sustainable registrant growth. The Science Council will work actively with its stakeholders on mutual plans to ensure acquisition of new registrants, and continue to promote the value and benefits of professional registration at all career stages.
  • The strategy will identify policy areas with broad interest and consensus among the Science Council's members. The Science Council would like to serve as a conduit between its diverse membership and policymakers.
