Drilling
Punching holes through the paper. Standard configurations are 2 hole drilled and 4 hole drilled on the left hand edge, as you would have to go into a ring binder.
Other configurations of hole drilling can be produced based on your requirements.
Stapling
Wire stitches can be produced in a variety of configurations, including top left corner and along the left margin.
Booklet making
Making booklets by putting wire stitches (or staples) in the seam of a booklet where it folds. You will also hear this termed as fold, stitch and trim.
This method needs its document to be in multiples of 4 printed pages to work and has a maximum page count of 40 printed pages depending on the weight of the paper.
Plastic Comb binding
Binding method where single sheets and covers have holes punched in the left hand edge and a plastic comb with rounded flexible teeth is inserted through.
A range of spine widths are available depending on the number of pages in your document and thickness of paper.
Plastic combs come in a choice of colours. Acetate front and or front and back sheets can be added, as can a board back.
Wire-O binding
Binding method where single sheets and covers have holes punched in the left had edge and a double wire looped strip is inserted through.
Acetate front and or front and back sheets can be added, as can a board back.
Perfect binding
Binding method where single sheets are glued together and into a wrap around cover. Used for larger brochures and magazines.
You need a minimum of 48 printed pages for this type of binding.
