Speaker information

Charles Jeffrey, “Drawn to the inherent magic in queerness” and inspired by his Scottish heritage, London's club scene, revolution and resistance, Charles Jeffrey, and his eponymous brand LOVERBOY, is widely regarded as one of the most innovative, joyous and original designers working today. He has won numerous awards, dresses a dazzling line-up of style icons, fronts his own band, and has collaborated with some of the most iconic British brands from Wedgewood to Fred Perry. Characterised by a restless reinvention of tradition, be that tailoring, heritage textiles, including his own LOVERBOY tartan, punk, or the rituals of British folklore, Jeffrey’s clothes function simultaneously as covetable high fashion and expressions of defiance. Fresh from his triumphant Paris showcasing of LOVERBOY’S fall 2024 collection and screening of the film The Curious Case of Moshkirk & Booness, join Professor Jonathan Faiers as he talks to Charles about fashion, ritual, revolution, his influences, his belief in fashion as a force for change and his plans to celebrate the brand’s 10th anniversary.
