Marks of Neutrality: The Drawings of Roland Barthes

This talk will offer a brief introduction to Roland Barthes' practice of drawing and painting, following which Manghani will make connections to Barthes' penultimate lecture course, the Neutral (as well as the previous lecture course, How to Live Together). The Neutral forms an underlying interest for a broader research project which may or may not ever happen! Drawing on various threads and sources, Manghani wants to suppose what the project might look like…
