Interviews at WSA

Thank you for booking your interview at Winchester School of Art. Please read this information carefully as it will help to prepare you for your interview. If you have any questions, please contact us on 023 8059 5341 or email AdmissionsUG.AH@soton.ac.uk

Getting here

Please allow plenty of time to travel to your interview.

Follow the WSA campus map and directions link at the bottom of the page to access maps and directions.

The full address is Winchester School of Art, Park Avenue, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 8DL.  The University of Winchester, a different institution, also often has AA signs up so please do not follow their signs. Please also make sure you don't go to the main University of Southampton campus in Southampton.

Parking is available at our campus on a first-come, first-served basis. Please allow plenty of time to park your car off-campus if necessary.  Please do not park on Park Avenue (the road outside our campus) as it is local Council owned, and permit-holder only. There is parking on campus for blue badge holders. If the campus car park is full, there is a Pay and Display car park adjacent to the campus – you can find more information on parking in Winchester by following the link below. The Park and Ride bus stops in Winchester city centre are only a few minutes' walk from the campus.

For Saturday interview Days you will not need a permit to park in the campus car park, but for weekday interviews you will need to get a parking permit from main reception.

If you are arriving by train, the WSA campus is a ten-minute walk away. On arrival, exit the station by Platform 2, cross directly across the main road junction, and continue straight down City Road.  At the next junction, cross Hyde Street and continue straight down the hill (North Walls) one-way road. Park Avenue is the second road on the left, at the pedestrian crossing and opposite Holy Trinity church.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay or want to find out more about Winchester, please visit the Winchester tourism information website at the bottom of this page.

Please let us know well in advance if you have any special requirements which we may need to consider in relation to the interview.

Please bring with you:

Your portfolio of work for your interview. There are links to portfolio guidance at the bottom of this page. During the Saturday interview days you will be able to leave your portfolio safely at the registration desk when you don't need it.

On arrival

Saturday interview days - please report to your programme's registration area. A-board signs will be up on campus to direct you there.

Weekday interviews - please report to main reception or follow A-board signs

Top Tips for your interview

Saturday interview days only - If you have attended an Open Day at Winchester School of Art then you may not want to go on the campus tour as it will be the same. The programme activity will not be the same as the programme talk at the Open Days so you may want to go to that. The only part of the day you definitely need to attend is your interview!

After your interview

Once your interview has taken place, the Admissions team will process the decision through UCAS. You should be able to see our decision via your UCAS on-line ‘Track’ account within 3 working days of your interview. We will not be able to disclose the decision to you on the day.

Saturday interview days only - you will receive an email with a link to a very short feedback questionnaire. We would really value your feedback about the day.

Good luck!
