Arthur Robert Green

Arthur Robert Green had a keen interest in the local history of Hampshire and church history. He was the author of The Saxon church of Breamore (1930 and 1960); Saxon architecture and sculpture in Hampshire (Winchester, 1951); and Sundials, incised dials or mass clocks: a study of the time markers of medieval churches (SPCK, 1926)

About the collection

Photographs of churches in Hampshire; postcards, an index, newspaper cuttings and books of Green's notes about churches and Hampshire; glass negatives.

Green was secretary of the photographic section of the Hampshire Field Club and some of his papers have been incorporated in its archives in the Hampshire Record Office: HFC 61/1-5.
