Wellington Congress 2025 Call for Papers
The University of Southampton will be holding its Eighth Wellington Congress on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th April 2025.
Proposals are invited for papers on all aspects of the career of the first Duke of Wellington, as well as of the wider context in Britain, Ireland, the Empire and Continental Europe, in the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
Submissions may come from any discipline that focuses on this period.
Proposals (up to 250 words) should be submitted to Archives@soton.ac.uk by Friday 31 May 2024. Conference papers should not exceed 30 minutes in length.
Proposals for panels will be considered, as well as short presentations of 15-20 minutes.
Potential participants will be notified by Friday 28 June 2024.
The University’s Hartley Library is the home to the first Duke of Wellington’s archive.
