Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Methodology Standards for qualitative and mixed methods research
In January this year Professor Catherine Pope was an invited international expert for the panel in Washington DC working on the new Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Methodology Standards for qualitative and mixed methods research. PCORI's Methodology Committee works to define and update methodological standards for patient-centered outcomes research.
To date, the Methodology Committee has created or endorsed Methodology Standards that provide guidance in 13 topic areas, for a total of 54 standards. At its July 24, 2018 meeting, PCORI’s Board of Governors accepted the Committee's proposal to update the standards with qualitative and mixed methods research containing 7 new standards.
PCORI are now inviting comments on these proposed new standards, as required under PCORI’s authorizing law. The deadline for submitting comments is Friday, September 21, 2018, at 5:00 pm ET. https://www.pcori.org/webform/standards-qualitative-methods-qm-and-mixed-methods-mm-research
