An event organised by by Professor David Gurnham (Centre for Justice Studies) and Dr Ekaterina Yahyaoui (Galway University School of Law).
Marking the 100th anniversary of Kafka’s death (1924) and in preparation for the 100th anniversary of first publication of his most celebrated work, The Trial (1925), this workshop discusses Kafka’s impact on contemporary ideas about power, the state and the individual; legal procedure and administration; guilt, shame and alienation in the legal and justice system; the role and behaviour of lawyers.
