The Loans Desk at Hartley is situated to the left of the entrance area on level 2 as you enter the Library.

Self-issue / Self-return

Use our self-issue / self-return units to loan borrow and return items yourself and avoid queuing at the Loans Desk.

The units produce a receipt listing the items and their date due or return date.

This service is available throughout library .

Out of hours returns

When the Hartley Library is closed, books may be returned through the outside post box positioned to the right of the main entrance.

Periodicals

All periodicals at Hartley are reference only.

Stack requests

Should you wish to consult an item with the call number prefix "stack" or "s", you will need to request the item using WebCat. Login to WebCat with your User ID & PIN and select Requests: Inter-library Loan & Stack; select Stack and enter the author, title and call number or year of submission (e.g. for a thesis: stack S.U. Theses 2008). Click on the Place Request button to submit your request.

Stack items submitted by the end of day are collected the following morning at 9am Monday - Friday.

Items ordered can be collected from the Loans Desk from 10am.

All theses retrieved from stack are reference only but will be held at the Loans Desk for consultation for 3 weeks.
