Lifelong Learning Archaeology Programme

Archaeology blends the academic and the practical and here at Southampton we are home to one of the leading centres in Europe for the study of this fascinating subject.

Over the years the Archaeology Lifelong Learning programme has become firmly established as one of the best ways for anyone interested in Archaeology to study the subject in the Southampton area and beyond.

You may have an interest in a particular aspect of archaeology, or be completely new to the field and would simply like to study one of our courses to develop your knowledge and understanding. We offer a diverse programme of evening courses in a range of archaeological fields, so as to appeal to a variety of different interests and audiences.

Our courses cover topics from Pompeii to Local Landscapes and Skeletal Remains, and will provide you with valuable skills to help you participate more fully in archaeological fieldwork, pursue your own study, or continue in Higher Education.

We are also delighted to be offering a Summer Field School, which will take place at the Portus archaeological site in Rome, allowing students to take part in this groundbreaking project.

Please explore our website to find out more about Archaeology's exciting public events programme.
