Southampton Science and Engineering Festival

Erica the Rhino at SOTSEF 2016

Southampton Science and Engineering Festival (SOTSEF) 2017 will be running for an entire week from 10th-18th March to coincide with British Science Week. There will be a host of different science activities happening across the city of Southampton throughout the week. SOTSEF will conclude with the fifteenth annual Science and Engineering Day which will be taking place at our Highfield and Boldrewood campuses.

Now in its third year, Southampton Science and Engineering Festival is the city's only week-long festival that celebrates both science and engineering through a programme of exciting events for families and adults. Throughout the week, SOTSEF has a line-up of talks and shows across the science spectrum in various venues in Southampton before the highlight of the SOTSEF calendar, Science and Engineering Day, on the final Saturday.

Our 2016 event welcomed over 6000 visitors to 100+ activities, shows, talks and tours which was our largest event to date. We had events/activities from physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, engineering, oceanography, psychology and archaeology (to name a few) and also opened the Boldrewood Innovation Campus to the public for the first time.

This year the festival will be running from 10th-18th March. The programme is currently being finalised and will be launched in February 2017. As always it promises to be an exciting year with activities for everyone. In the meantime you can download a copy of the 2016 programme for a taster of the events, and you can connect with us via our website, Facebook and Twitter to get more updates.
