Cognos is an online reporting tool that the University uses to filter then extract, manipulate and display vast amounts of data about our people.
Is it connected to the University's central people and payroll database, ResourceLink.
Managers can access data from Cognos either by running their own reports or by receiving regular burst reports by email. Cognos will help you extract the information to find the answers to all your people-data related questions.
The University also has a catalogue of reports available online.

These are reports automatically generated by Cognos and issued to line managers by email. At present there are 11 different types of burst report available.
The data within each report is taken directly from the University's people and payroll database, ResourceLink. Therefore if you notice any errors or have any queries with the data in the report please contact Ask HR in the first instance.
