Biography

Peter White trained as a physiotherapist and ultimately specialised in musculoskeletal outpatients in an NHS setting. He became interested in acupuncture in 1995 and used this alongside other conventional treatment modalities in his day to day clinical practise. He started his research career in late 1998 when he began his Phd at the University of Southampton, a project designed to test the efficacy of acupuncture for neck pain. Since then he has written many papers on various aspects of acupuncture. He has been an advisor to the World Health Organisation on compiling guidelines for acupuncture research.
