Conscience

Conscience is the Interdenominational Committee for Soviet Jewry.  It was set up in 1973 to work for the release of Jews from the Soviet Union.

About the collection

Papers of Alan Howard, chairman of Conscience, together with papers for its predecessor, the Greater London Interdenominational Committee for the Release of Soviet Jewry: correspondence, 1973-89, including correspondence with public figures, minutes, reports of visits by members of Conscience to the Soviet Union, and biographies and translations of material relating to refusniks.
