Walter Frank Perkins

Walter Frank Perkins (1865-1946) studied at the Royal Agricultural College at Cirencester, 1883-5, after which he joined his father's business as a surveyor.  Perkins was MP for the New Forest, 1910-22, and Honorary Treasurer of the University College of Southampton, 1928-35.  His interest in agricultural books led to the formation of the Perkins Agricultural Library, which he gave to the University College of Southampton shortly before his death, and to his well-known bibliography British and Irish writers on agriculture (Lymington, 1929).
