MS 84 Papers of Elinor A.Moore

Elinor A.Moore

Elinor A.Moore was the Librarian of University College, Southampton, during World War I, moving to Jerusalem to teach at the British High School for Girls (later Jerusalem Girls' College) in 1920. She was involved with teaching and relief work in Jerusalem and Amman from this time until her retirement in 1957.

About the collection

Correspondence, 1920-5, 1948-72; notes, papers, prints and photographs relating to Palestine; autograph and typescript drafts of Miss Moore's published works (she produced three books: Ancient churches of Old Jerusalem-the evidence of the pilgrims (Beruit, 1961); Some soldier martyrs of the early Christian church in East Jordan and Syria (Beruit, 1964); and The early church in the Middle East (Beruit, 1968); and photoprints or negatives of related materials.
