Southampton Business School confirms partnership with T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), India
On Wednesday 28th October 2020, Southampton Business School and T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal, India, confirmed their formal strategic research partnership in a virtual ceremony with faculty from both institutions in attendance.
The relationship, which makes provision for research collaboration and staff exchange, is in alignment with the University's India Strategy and the School's ambition for growth in the South Asia region. Led by Professor Laura Costanzo, Head of Southampton Business School, the delegation discussed the ongoing productive nature of the relationship, as well as new possibilities and future directions.
TAPMI is a dual accredited school (AACSB, AMBA), regarded as one of the top business schools in India, with a global reputation for research and scholarship. TAPMI has a history collaborating with Southampton Business School and the Max Planck Institute, Berlin, on the Winter School on Bounded Rationality. In the past six months, SBS and TAPMI have jointly hosted an extremely successful post-COVID-19 themed conference and collaborated in the development of a publishing workshop led by Dr. Ajit Nayak (SBS). Research projects in multiple research centres are already in progress.
Professor Laura Costanzo, Head of Southampton Business School said: "I am delighted that today the two faculties formally met, although in a virtual space, to formalise our research collaborations that already exist across multiple research areas. The formal agreement of research collaboration builds on the distinctive and complementary strengths of TAPMI and the SBS, which share some common values, one of which is quality. Going forward, the SBS will leverage these quality collaborations to support and sustain its international strategy of diversification in Asian markets and, certainly, India is at the heart of this strategy”.
Dr. Rob Angell, Director of Internationalisation, Southampton Business School said: "it was a wonderful and momentous day for the School. There is a great relationship already developing between the SBS and TAPMI, and this is evident in the research that is already in progress, across multiple research centres. I am delighted that we have been able to develop and strengthen an existing relationship held within the School and open-up new opportunities for our scholars to engage with collaborators on international projects, and really look forward to the future and what we can achieve together".
