Professor David Owen, Professor of Social and Political Philosophy has published a new book entitled ‘What do we owe to Refugees’.

Who are refugees? Who, if anyone, has a duty to protect them?   In a world of people fleeing from corrupt governments, civil wars, state failure, famine and environmental disasters, these are politically urgent and ethically pressing questions. In this important new book from Polity, Professor David Owen – who will have taught many of you on his very popular modules on migration - takes a critical look at the past and the future of the international refugee protection regime. At a time when refugee protection is once again prominent on the international agenda, this book offers a guide to understanding the challenges it raises and why addressing it matters for all of us, citizen and refugee alike.

Available from March 2020.
