Southampton CI HSK project selected as Hankao International key project

On 30th September 2018, CI Southampton's research project 'HSK (Level 1-3)test taker characteristics, test performance and implication for HSK test constructs' was successfully selected as Hankao International key research project of 2018.

This project (2018-2019) will be a research collaboration between Dr. Ying Zheng (Director of CI Soton), Dr. Yang Lu from the University of Nottingham and Dr. Clare Wright from the University of Leeds. The project will use global Mandarin Chinese testing data to model the relationship between HSK test performance and test taker characteristics to see if any patterns can be identified to inform test taker behaviour and test constructs. This project also aims to compare the identified patterns to those found in English tests, and explore the reasons behind those differences to seek pedagogical implications.
