Spring Festival Cultural activities

On January 30th, the Confucius Institute at the University of Southampton held a cultural event with the Chinese Association in Westquay Shopping Centre.

Ying Zheng, UK Director of the Confucius Institute, gave her sincerest New Year’s wishes to all who attended.

This was the first large-scale in-person celebration since the pandemic began, attracting many visitors and flooding the scene; Westquay’s statistics showed that more than 40,000 visitors attended the activities. The Confucius Institute carefully prepared four workshops for the activity, which were Chinese calligraphy, paper cutting, lantern making and making clay pandas, which was enthusiastically participated by everyone there.
