Teacher training 2023

On 30th September 2023, the Confucius Institute (CI) at the University of Southampton held its first hybrid training event of the academic year for the new Mandarin teachers coming from China.

 

 

 

CI Directors Dr Ruoling Zheng and Dr Ying Zheng hosted the training. Dr Ying Zheng talked about teachers’ active involvement in academic research alongside their language teaching engagement. CI core teacher Ying Fu gave a presentation regarding basic working rules in the UK and safeguarding policy in schools.

Five new CI teachers were warmly welcomed and they will be working in Bohunt School of Liphook, Worthing and Horsham. The new teachers gained a lot of professional and practical advice from this event. This will be extremely useful as they start teaching in the UK.
