Confucius Institute Day

On 1st October 2023, the Confucius Institute Day was held with the theme of “Chinese Cuisines”.

Ying Fu, the core teacher from the Confucius Institute, gave a presentation on the eight major Chinese cuisine types. Mr Xu, head chef from the Centenary Restaurant of the University performed exquisite food carving for the audience. The participants enjoyed the beautiful music played with Chinese Zither and tasted delicious dumplings and mooncakes. 

 

 

Three cultural workshops took place on the day:

  • tea ceremony
  • calligraphy
  • clay modelling for dumplings and creative art items.

All participants spoke highly of this event and enjoyed the day.
