The Confucius Institute is delighted to be offering free Mandarin and Chinese Calligraphy courses for beginners. From Monday 29 Oct – Wed 19 Dec, courses will run from 17:00 – 18:30 Monday and Wednesday each week.
Both courses are aimed at those with no prior knowledge of the Chinese language, and will focus on teaching you the basics in terms of language as well as culture.
Below you’ll find a brief description of each course, as well as dates:
Mandarin for Beginners (every Wednesday) taught by Miss Yang. You will learn:
- Pronunciation
- Basic expressions
- Chinese characters
Chinese Calligraphy (every Monday) taught by Miss An. You will learn:
- The history of the Chinese characters you will be writing
- Basic calligraphy strokes
- Chinese characters
- Your name in Chinese
