Risk assessment

Your supervisor is responsible for signing off your risk assessments. The Health Safety and Risk Service or building safety manager can give specific training on the completion of risk assessments and CoSHH documentation where necessary for your research. It is your responsibility to abide by the institutional safety policy, to observe safe working practices at all times and to follow those procedures prescribed by your supervisor. Laboratory manager and technical staff can advise on specific risks associated with particular specialised areas and facilities.
