Mentoring Mathematics Teachers
A new book, edited by two academics from the School, was published last month.
Mentoring Mathematics Teachers – Supporting and inspiring pre-service and newly qualified teachers has just been published by Routledge. This new book is edited by Rosalyn Hyde and Julie-Ann Edwards from the Mathematics and Science Education Research Centre in the Southampton Education School. Designed to support both teachers and university-based tutors in mentoring primary and secondary pre-service and beginning teachers, the book takes a research-informed view of professional practice across a range of relevant issues. The book reflects the close partnership between the Centre and practising teachers of mathematics with seven of the twelve chapters authored by the editors and other members of the Centre. The book has been developed on behalf of the Association of Mathematics Education Teachers.
